That's because those videos are made by adults for adults, which can make it hard for you to relate or keep up. But don't worry, because that's where this article comes in. It's specifically written for kids and teens like you who want to learn how to make YouTube videos.

2. Do YouTube with your hobby as your channel's topic
The next step to creating a great YouTube channel is to focus on your hobbies. You want to explore the things that you currently enjoy and turn them into videos.
But here's the thing, at this stage, you may not be sure about the specific aspect of your hobby that you should be creating videos about.
If you look at the YouTube channels you love, you'll notice that they have a clear focus.
So, how do you get to that point?
Well, it doesn't happen overnight.
You need to follow some steps that I'm going to discuss, so you can discover the particular part of your hobby that you should be making videos about. For now, just think about what you like and start creating videos around that.
3. Make your first draft video to boost your confidence
A draft video is like a practice video, a test run. It's a video that you don't show to anyone. I understand that if you're making YouTube videos for the first time, you might feel nervous, shy, and lacking confidence in yourself.
But don't worry, because you still want to become a YouTuber.
This is where making a draft video by yourself comes in handy. Find a quiet place, like your room, where you can turn on the camera and make those mistakes without anyone ever seeing them.
When you're making your first video, don't worry too much about having the perfect camera or a fancy background with good lighting. We'll reveal the right time to consider getting a better camera and improving your background in the later parts of this article.
Once you're done recording, you might experience a lot of cringe. Yes, cringe! Oh, my goodness!
Every YouTuber, even someone like Mr. Beast, had to go through that cringe phase. Eventually, you'll find your own voice and discover what works for you, which will help you sound confident.
But for now, embrace the cringe and don't be too hard on yourself.
4. Start with simple editing apps (filmorago, capcut, inshot)
If you want to start with something simple, it's best to learn how to make basic videos. Some of you may already know how to make videos, and that's fantastic!
But for those of you who are doing this for the first time, don't worry.
You can simply download any free editing app on your phone or tablet and learn how to put things together, add music, and remove any parts you don't like.
The goal here is to get comfortable with the idea of making a video by yourself and gaining confidence.
Once you've finished editing your first video, you'll gain valuable experience and ideas that will help you create an even better second draft of your video.
5. Make 2nd draft video to improve
Moving on to step number five: create the second draft of your video and improve upon the mistakes you discovered during your first edit.
As you make your second video, you'll notice that you save a lot more time because now you know what shots to take and how to edit them.
You'll also realize that some things may not be perfect, but don't feel embarrassed because no one is watching them.
Congratulations! You're on your way to becoming a better video maker.
Once you've made two videos, you'll start to get a clearer idea of the types of videos you enjoy creating and the ones you should avoid.
6. Know what Youtube videos you should make
Initially, when you create a YouTube channel, you might be excited to make any kind of video. However, after making two videos, you'll start to discover what you don't like and what you actually enjoy and that's part of learning how to create a good youtube channel.
Remember what I mentioned earlier?
You're now one step closer to figuring out the specific aspect of your hobby that you're truly passionate about and want to make videos about.
As you progress, your focus becomes clearer, and you're able to create more specific videos that align with your interests.
7. Upload your first Youtube video
it's time to upload your first video to your YouTube channel. You're feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness, eagerly waiting to see how many views it will get.
You go to bed, and the next day, you visit your channel to check the view count. You might see just a couple of views, maybe few of them being from yourself. Maybe you'll get 47, 50, or 80 views.
If you're really lucky, one of my students even got 800 views, and another student got a whopping 11,000 views!
But most of the time, you'll realize that your first, second, third, or even fourth videos will have very few views. It might feel like nobody is watching your videos.

You start to understand that there are other important things you need to do besides just making videos.

To create a thumbnail, remember these three important elements: a subject, some text, and a background. Even if you've seen videos without thumbnails, as a new channel, it's essential to follow this rule.
9. Organize your time to be able to make more videos
So now we come to the next step, which doesn't involve creating videos or managing your YouTube channel directly, but it's essential for your success.
As a YouTuber, it's important to organize and manage your time effectively so that you can consistently create videos. Ideally, aim to upload a new video every week or every two weeks.
Consistency is valued by YouTube and helps your channel grow.
You will also notice that when you first start your channel, it may not be easy to find it when you search for it. It takes time to build your channel, attract viewers, and create more content for YouTube to recognize your channel's value and show it in search results.
So, make sure to organize your time wisely and put in the effort to create videos consistently.
10. Experiment with other Youtube videos to grow your views
And now we come to the next point, which is number ten.
It's time to focus on getting more views.
And the best way to do that is by creating more videos. You need to keep experimenting with different types of videos, trying out new thumbnail designs, and even exploring YouTube shorts.

As you progress on your journey as a YouTuber, remember that it's not just about relying on your creativity alone.
11. Grow with your Youtube Studio
The next step of being a YouTuber is all about accessing valuable information through YouTube Studio. As new YouTubers, you may not be aware, but in Google YouTube, it's important to read the data provided in YouTube Studio.
Once you have a good number of views, like 2000 views, you can find helpful information about your audience, how your videos are performing, and who is subscribing to your channel, among other things. 12. Identify your viewers and audience
It's time to get to know your viewers! Go to your YouTube Studio and explore your audience.
Are most of your viewers boys or girls?
What are their ages?
Where in the world are they watching from?
Pay attention to the types of videos they enjoy because it will give you new ideas for your future content.
As a YouTuber, it's important to understand what kind of videos people want to watch. This valuable information comes from experimenting with different video ideas and attracting more views.
Use these insights to inspire your next video creation.
13. Study your watch time
And number 12, let's talk about the videos you'll be making and how important it is to experiment. As you create more videos, you'll start noticing a crucial aspect called Watch Time, which is often mentioned by creators like Mr. Beast.
Watch Time is a key factor that tells YouTube whether your video is worth recommending to others.
So what does Watch Time really mean?
Let's say someone clicks on your video but only watches the first 10 seconds before leaving. What does this tell you?
It indicates that your video didn't capture their interest within the first 20 seconds, causing them to lose interest. To improve your videos, you'll need to focus on creating a captivating introduction that hooks viewers and keeps them engaged until the end.
Think about the important points you don't want your audience to miss, and find ways to enhance your videos to encourage people to keep watching.
14. Improve and evolve your videos
And now we come to point number 14, where you go back to the drawing board and rethink how you should make your videos.
Every YouTube channel needs to adapt and change over time because YouTube itself is always evolving. So, you find yourself at this current stage of evolution, where you need to think and plan carefully about the content of your videos.
Take a moment to consider who your viewers are and what kind of content they enjoy watching.
Identify the topics that resonate with your audience and start getting clearer about the direction your YouTube channel should take. This newfound understanding will guide you as you create your next video.
Once you've finished editing and perfecting your video, it's time to move on to the next step in your YouTube journey.
15. Upload Youtube videos with keywords
Now, when it comes to uploading your videos, it's important to make sure that you're creating content that people are actively searching for.
This means including relevant keywords, hashtags, and tags in your video.
Let's say you're making a video about "Gacha." Make sure to include the word "Gacha" in your title, description, and hashtags. If your video features music, be sure to mention that too because those are the keywords people are currently searching for.
Similarly, if you're creating a gaming video that focuses on a specific weapon that many people are familiar with, make sure to include those specific words in your content.
Remember, keywords are essential because without them, your video may not show up in search results. And if people can't find your video, you won't be able to get those valuable views.

How can you find the right keywords? Well, it's time to do some research.
Take a look at other channels that your viewers are watching. See what kind of videos they are making. You want to explore similar channels to yours and find out which videos are getting the most views.
Have you ever wondered why some videos have way more views than others on certain YouTubers' channels?
Well, that's because those videos are tapping into a trending topic or a popular interest that many people around the world are currently passionate about.
By examining other channels, you can think ahead like an experienced YouTuber. You can identify those trending topics and create similar videos that have the potential to attract more views compared to your current content.
It's all about staying in tune with what people want to see.
17. Write video description
So as you become a better YouTuber, it's important not to forget about number 17: your video description. If you check out experienced YouTube channels, you'll notice that their descriptions have important details for both viewers and yourself.

You also have the opportunity to share what your channel is all about.
Don't be surprised if people actually read it, especially new viewers. And if your video is good and your viewers have read your description, they will remember you even more.

This is something important to consider for your channel's growth. Instead of just going with the flow and coming up with video ideas on the spot, it's helpful to plan ahead.
Even if you're a kid or a teenager, try to envision where you want your channel to go in the future. It may be challenging to think too far ahead, but start by planning your next five or ten videos.
This way, you can assess if the direction you're taking is right for your channel before investing time in recording and editing, only to realize it's not the best idea.
By taking a little time to plan, you'll have more control over your schedule.
We all know that making videos, editing them, and creating thumbnails can be a lot of work, especially when you have other responsibilities like homework, school, friends, and family.
So, having a clear plan for your video ideas can help you manage your time better. As you continue with this practice, you'll likely see improvements in the quality of your YouTube channel.
19. Improve camera quality
At number 19, let's explore ways to make your camera even better! In the beginning of this article, I encouraged you to use whatever camera you have at home to start making videos.
You may not realize it, but your camera could actually be quite good.
The thing is, you might not know how to use it to its fullest potential yet. So you might think it's not a good camera, but if you happen to have a not-so-great camera, don't worry! Your mom or dad might have a better camera that you can use.
If you manage your time well, you'll know when it's the right time you can use your parent's camera.
Now that you have some experience recording videos, it won't take you as long to film. Remember, recording the video is actually the shorter part compared to editing. So if you think about it, you'll have the opportunity to enhance the quality of your camera, and your viewers will definitely notice the improvement in your video quality.

Number 20 is all about learning proper video editing skills. This is where you get into the technical side of editing on your computer.
By mastering video editing, you'll make your videos even better while also improving the quality of your camera. Learning how to edit videos properly will give your channel a big boost.
